What is Wave Front Technique?

WaveFront technology is also known as personalized custom treatment - eagle eye technique.
The aim of the standard Lasik technique is to eliminate the refractive error in the eye.

However, the aim of the WaveFront technique is to further increase the quality and level of vision, as well as reduce night vision problems. Especially in patients with corneal irregularity and amblyopia-related low vision, better quality and vision are achieved that cannot be obtained with standard treatment.

Wavefront technology has been used for years in astronomy to obtain clearer images from space with telescopes.

Light waves entering our eyes enter in parallel, but as they return, they pass through mediums such as the vitreous, lens, and cornea in our eyes, causing them to return as waves and leading to aberrations.

As seen in the figure below, the 3D image in the eye map is transferred to the laser via a disk. The maps obtained with aberrometry are personal and are like fingerprints.

How is Wave Front Applied?

All layers of the eye are measured using a device called Wave Front Analyzer (Aberrometer), and a unique map of aberrations and irregularities is created for each eye. This map is then transferred to the laser device, and a treatment is planned specifically for each eye.

Since Wave Front maps are different in each person like fingerprints, the treatment is also a patient-specific, custom-made treatment.
