Opr. Dr. Sinan Göker, who heads our team, is the first person to perform Excimer Laser treatment in Turkey. Our doctor has performed nearly 100,000 surgeries to date.

ISRS (The International Society of Refractive Surgery), based in the USA, awarded the "Honor Award" to Opr. Dr. Sinan Göker, Head of the Eye Department of Istanbul Cerrahi Hospital, for the first time to an ophthalmologist from Turkey.

He is also the Turkish representative of the International Society of Refractive Surgery. Op.Dr. Sinan Göker is a name you can safely entrust your health to, with his successful work in Turkey, Europe and the USA, especially in the field of eye surgery.

Dr. Sinan Göker, one of the first names that comes to mind in Turkey when it comes to eye surgeries and laser vision correction treatments, was born in İzmir in 1958.

He graduated from Kadıköy Anadolu High School in 1977 and Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1982. In 1988, he completed his specialization in ophthalmology at Çapa Faculty of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology.

During and after his specialization, he received training for 6 months at Sarasota Retina Institute in Florida, USA, 2 months at Bellaire Institute of Cataract Surgery in Houston, Texas, and 1 month at San Antonio Texas Institute of Cataract Surgery.

Dr. Göker, who had the opportunity to examine patients and directly see the results of the Excimer laser technique, decided that this technology was the most accurate method to be applied in the future and continued his studies on this subject after returning to Turkey. Thus, in 1992, he was among the first to perform Excimer laser eye surgery in the world.

Dr. Göker also pioneered new techniques used in eye surgeries in Turkey. In 1990, he was the first person in Turkey to start sutureless cataract surgery with ultrasound.

In 1992, he applied laser myopia and astigmatism treatment. In 1997, he brought the Lasik method to Turkey to treat high myopia. He performed laser lacrimal duct and glaucoma surgeries for the first time in Turkey.

Op. Dr. Sinan Göker, who has applied laser eye treatment to over seventy thousand patients to date, has achieved a decrease of 30 degrees in a patient with myopia and 20-25 degrees in over a hundred patients.
