How is the Treatment Performed?
How is the examination performed?
Detailed measurements are taken. Our patients are informed about the procedure when they meet with Dr. Sinan Göker. Our patients need to allocate at least three days: the first day for examination and tests, the second day for treatment, and the third day for the final check-up.
How is the procedure applied before the treatment?
Patients who use soft contact lenses should remove their lenses at least 7 days before the treatment; those who use gas-permeable rigid lenses should remove them 3 weeks before.
How is the procedure applied during the treatment?
You will be given a sedative approximately 45 minutes before the operation. This eliminates the excitement of the surgery and increases compliance. Immediately before entering the laser room, anesthetic drops are applied to your eyes, so you will not feel any pain or ache. After lying on the laser table, your eyelids are wiped with an antiseptic solution and covered with a plastic drape. A special wire is attached to separate your eyelids. In this way, you cannot close your eyes even if you want to. What you will see later is the bright light of the microscope and a green dot in the middle. Your doctor will ask you not to take your eyes off this green light during the surgery. Since the laser is locked onto the eye during treatment, the laser follows the eye even if the patient moves their eye. Being comfortable and not tensing up will significantly shorten the duration of the surgery. The treatment duration is 4 minutes for each eye.
How is the procedure applied after the treatment?
After the surgery, antibiotic drops are applied to your eye, and pads are used to prevent dust and dirt from entering on the way home. You can remove the pads when you get home. Blurry vision is completely normal. You may experience burning, stinging, and watering in your eyes for a few hours. Pain is rare, but if it occurs, it will be relieved with a simple painkiller. You should not touch, scratch, or rub your eyes. Do not take a bath or wash your face. Do not watch television or read. Use your antibiotic drops as directed by your doctor. The day after the treatment, our patients will need a short check-up at our clinic, and this check-up is extremely important. After this check-up, people whose treatments are completed return to their normal lives.
The drops are used for 1 week and then discontinued.
Makeup is contraindicated for 1 week.
It is contraindicated to enter the pool and sea for 20 days.
Applying eye makeup is contraindicated for 15 days.
You can take a bath and shower after the check-up the day after the treatment, but avoid getting soap and shampoo in your eyes in the first few days.
