Surgery

RLE takes 10 minutes

The RLE procedure is performed under local anesthesia with drops and light sedation, so you won’t feel any pain or discomfort during the surgery. RLE takes 10 minutes for one eye. Each eye is operated on different days, and most patients are able to resume their daily activities within just a few days after procedure. Our patients enjoy a 97% success rate, with most being able to read drug prescriptions without glasses or contacts after surgery.
15 percent of our patients may come for a final correction for 2 days if necessary after 3-4 months.

The Intraocular Lens selection is done by Dr. Goker after detailed exam and measurments according to your age, life style, profession and reading habits , to ensure the best possible visual results.

1.Do I need to return to your clinic after surgery?

We strive to leave our patients near-zero refractive error for both distance and near vision. Rarely, if any of our patients have residual refractive errors, we offer free laser correction to bring it down to zero. This correction is performed approximately four months after the surgery and typically takes only 5 minutes. In most cases, a one-night stay is sufficient for this procedure.

2.What type of intraocular lenses do you use for RLE surgery?

We have been utilizing trifocal lenses in our clinic for the past 5 years. These lenses have the ability to correct near, mid-near and far distances, providing comprehensive vision correction. Our lens selection is based on the preferences and satisfaction of over 15,000 patients. We prioritize using lenses that have proven to yield the highest patient satisfaction rates.

SİNAN GÖKER

Dr. Sinan Göker graduated from Istanbul University Medical Faculty, specializing in Ophthalmology at the Department of Ophthalmology in the Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 1988. During and post his residency, Dr. Göker was associated with Sarasota Retina Institute in Florida, USA, the Bellaire Institute of Cataract Surgery in Texas, USA, Texas Luis Institute of Cataract Surgery in San Antonio, USA, and worked alongside Dr. Luis Ruiz in Excimer Laser Lasik procedures.

In 1990, Dr. Göker introduced Turkey to small incision, sutureless cataract surgery with phacoemulsification, and in 1992, he brought excimer laser treatment for myopia to the country. Over the last 33 years, he has successfully performed 70,000 excimer laser surgeries and 30,000 cataract surgeries. In the past 17 years, Dr. Göker has operated 15,000 patients with multifocal Premium Intraocular Lenses, enabling patients to read without glasses. He is recognized for performing the highest number of excimer laser surgeries and multifocal intraocular lens implants for glasses-free reading in Europe.
